Los Angeles / Istanbul, 30 September 2015 – Globus Fairs and Basic Lead have announced the launch of a new pitching, training and matchmaking program set to be a dynamic new addition to the 6th edition of DISCOP Istanbul, which takes place from 1 to 3 March 2016.

Centred on business across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, DISCOP Istanbul is expected to bring together 1,500+ delegates representing exhibiting companies from 75 countries. Participants will include key regional broadcasters, pay-tv platforms, mobile networks, online operators, advertisers, influencers, and investors driving multiplatform television business across this fast-growing world region, as well as 500+ independent producers.

Acting as a business accelerator effectively helping producers from across the region and worldwide, this new program underlines the vital role the production industry plays in countries fuelled by rapid digitization and growth in population size and consumer spending. It also reinforces the fast rising importance of Turkey in driving expansion across a world region that generates close to US$10 billion in licensing sales.

Offered in parallel to the 3-day multiplatform content market, the sidebar pitching, training and matchmaking program will enable independent producers to market their ideas, broaden their knowledge and connect with potential partners and key industry players with the power to get projects greenlit, financed and distributed.

A format day will provide up-and-coming content creators with the opportunity to pitch their show concepts in front of established production, commissioning, distribution and advertising executives seeking fresh talent and new ideas.

Hands-on, small group, formative workshops will be offered to help seasoned, emerging and aspiring producers navigate the process of content development, content funding and content monetization. Meetings between producers and potential partners will also be organized in advance and scheduled during special matchmaking sessions.

National and regional umbrellas at DISCOP Istanbul will feature pavilions from China, Korea, France, Cote D’Ivoire, the European Union, Russia and South Africa.
