33% Attendance Growth at DISCOP Istanbul underlines Turkey's Emergence as a Major TV Content Business HUB
LOS ANGELES / 10 MARCH – The fourth edition of DISCOP Istanbul concluded in Turkey last week, with organizers Basic Lead confirming another record-breaking event, as attendee figures rose by 33%.
1048 delegates were welcomed across the three-day event, which marked DISCOP Istanbul’s move to the International Convention & Exhibition Center. Figures included a huge 52% increase in the number of qualified buyers attending. A total of 67 countries were represented, also up on last year, including many delegates arriving from the Middle East, the Gulf region, Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia to attend the market for the first time.
As the market closed, organizers confirmed that the fifth edition of DISCOP Istanbul will take place from 24 to 26 February 2015 at the same location and that it has established a dedicated office in Istanbul to coordinate the event. The success of the market amidst the international community underlined the importance of Turkey as a content industry hub. Expected to generate UK$1 Billion in TV content sales, the country has become the second largest TV producer in the world.

DISCOP Africa will take place from 5 to 7 November at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
