It's a Small World

09:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Driving digitalization via Satellite

Today the majority of TV homes in the region are already receiving TV programs via satellite and this will further increase in the future. Distribution via satellite has the advantage that it can reach anyone and that it is not limited to specific infrastructures on the ground. In addition to its cost –efficiency and unlimited reach, satellite is also the primary delivery way for cable and IP-based reception. Cable and Telecom operators are receiving the majority of the TV channels from satellite, turn them around at the receiving head-end and feed them into the networks. Satellite is also ideally placed in the merging world of TV and Internet. Satellite offers a variety of solutions to enjoy content anytime and anywhere by combining the best of both worlds – satellite being used for “one-to-many” and IP for “one-to-one” applications. The presentation illustrates how Eutelsat can support broadcaster to grow globally as well as locally.
